Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has reached the historic milestone of 6 crore two-wheeler sales in the domestic market. The company made its debut with the Activa scooter in 2001.
The company took 11 years to reach 1 crore sales milestone, hitting the 2 crore mark in the next three years. It touched 3 crore sales in 2017. The next 3 crore customers were added in less than seven years.
Honda’s Activa is the largest-selling scooter in India at present. The Shine is the company’s best-selling motorcycle.
Honda is the only two-wheeler manufacturer in India to have a product portfolio ranging from 100cc to 1800cc. The company’s Red Wing product line-up includes four scooter models — Activa, Dio, Activa 125 and Dio 125. In the motorcycle segment, the company offers nine models — Shine 100, CD 110 Dream Deluxe, Livo, Shine 125, SP125, Unicorn, SP160, Hornet 2.0 and CB200X.
The company’s premium motorcycle retail format is led by BigWing Topline for the entire premium motorcycle range (300cc to 1800cc) in top metros and BigWing, exclusively for mid-size motorcycle segment (300cc to 500cc).
The premium motorcycle range includes the CB350, H’ness CB350, CB350RS, CB300F, CB300R, NX500, XL750 Transalp, Africa Twin and Gold Wing Tour.
