Realme has set the stage for the upcoming launch of the Realme GT Neo 6 SE, a mid-range phone expected to offer strong performance. The company recently confirmed the phone’s chipset on the Chinese social media platform Weibo.
The Realme GT Neo 6 SE will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor, making it the fastest chip in the Snapdragon 7 series.
This news comes alongside the reveal of the phone’s existence. While a launch date remains unconfirmed, rumours suggest an imminent debut in China, potentially alongside the more powerful Realme GT Neo 6. The GT Neo 6 is expected to pack the rumoured Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
The Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 boasts an octa-core architecture with a powerful combination of cores. Leaks suggest it will feature a single high-performance Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 2.8GHz, four Cortex-A720 cores for demanding tasks clocked at 2.61GHz, and three Cortex-A520 efficiency cores for less demanding activities at 1.9GHz. This core configuration is similar to the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launched in October 2023, hinting at impressive performance for a mid-range phone.
Previous rumours also shed light on potential display and battery specifications. The Realme GT Neo 6 SE is expected to sport a 1.5K LTPO OLED screen, putting it on par with displays found on high-end smartphones. The phone is also rumoured to pack a 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging.
Drawing comparisons, the Realme GT Neo 5 SE, launched last year, featured a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, a triple rear camera system with a 64MP main sensor, and a 16MP front-facing camera. The phone also sported a 6.74-inch 1.5K display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. If rumours hold true, the Realme GT Neo 6 SE seems likely to retain the 5,500mAh battery and 100W fast charging from its predecessor while offering a significant performance leap with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset.
The official launch date remains under wraps, but anticipation is building for this upcoming mid-range contender from Realme. There is no word if the GT Neo 6 SE will arrive in other regions outside of China, including India.
