Indore: In a startling incident, a 21-year-old woman from Madhya Pradesh allegedly faked her own kidnapping, sending her family into a frenzy. The incident took place when her father reported to the police that his daughter had been abducted, accompanied by a ransom demand of Rs 30 lakh.
What was stated in the police complaint?
According to the father’s statement in the police complaint, he received distressing images showing his daughter with her hands and feet bound. The young woman is said to be a student at a coaching institute in Rajasthan’s Kota.
However, authorities in Kota have disclosed that their preliminary investigation indicates no criminal activity against the woman. Superintendent of Police Amrita Duhan said, “In the investigation so far, evidence shows that no crime has been committed against the girl and no kidnapping has taken place. From the evidence found so far, the incident appears to be false.”
Surprising twists
Upon receiving the complaint, police teams swiftly mobilised, only to discover a surprising twist. The woman was found residing with two friends in Indore, nearly 400 kilometres away from her parents’ residence.
Upon further inquiry, one of her friends disclosed to the authorities that the young woman had aspirations of studying abroad and sought financial assistance from her family. “She said she would not be able to study in India and wanted money to study abroad,” the friend informed the police.
she promptly left for Indore
Contrary to her claimed whereabouts, the woman had not been enrolled in any coaching institute or hostel in Kota for the past several months. It was discovered that after briefly attending a coaching institute in August, she promptly left for Indore.
To maintain the facade of her studies, the woman resorted to sending fabricated messages to her parents, purportedly detailing her academic progress from a different phone number.
In a shocking revelation, it was disclosed that the woman, in collaboration with her friend, staged her own abduction. They clicked pictures of her with bound hands and feet within their Indore residence and forwarded them to her father, along with the ransom demand.
