Bank holidays in April 2024: Check state-wise list

In April, banks in various states will be closed for a total of 14 days, including Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays, as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list.

Customers need to check the holiday list for their state to know when the bank will be closed if they’re planning to visit the bank.

April 2024 brings several holidays across India, so it’s important to be aware of these closures, whether you need to visit the bank for a transaction or deposit a cheque, to avoid any inconvenience.

HERE ARE THE DAYS WHEN BANKS WILL BE CLOSED IN APRIL 2024:

1. April 1: Banks will be closed in most states to close their yearly accounts, except in Mizoram, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya.

2. April 5 (Friday): Banks closed for Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday/Jumat-ul-Vida in Hyderabad – Telangana, Jammu, and Srinagar.

3. April 9 (Tuesday): Banks closed for Gudhi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/Telugu New Year’s Day/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba)/1st Navratra in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Manipur, Goa, Jammu, and Srinagar.

4. April 10 (Wednesday): Banks closed for Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) in Kerala.

5. April 11 (Thursday): Banks closed for Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) (1st Shawaal) in most states except Chandigarh, Sikkim, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh.

6. April 13 (second Saturday): Banks closed for Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi/Biju Festival in Tripura, Assam, Manipur, Jammu, and Srinagar.

7. April 15 (Monday): Banks closed for Bohag Bihu/Himachal Day in Assam and Himachal Pradesh.

8. April 16 (Tuesday): Banks closed for Shree Ram Navami (Chaite Dasain) in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh.

9. April 20 (third Saturday): Banks closed for Garia Puja in Tripura.
